Meet the Member – Little Vintage Teacup

Meet our member Michelle from Little Vintage Teacup; she tells us about how she got started, one of her most memorable events and answers our Local Biz Quickfire.

First off, briefly tell us a bit about yourself and how you got started with Little Vintage Teacup.

My name is Michelle and I live in Tring with my husband, 2 sons and our English Springer Spaniel.

I have loved vintage china for as long as I can remember, something I have always been drawn to and over the years I have collected many beautiful pieces.  I wanted to be to be able share and use my collection and for others to be able to enjoy its beauty and charm.

I launched my business in July 2021 with the easing of the lockdown.  Following such a difficult period of time, spending quality time with loved ones, friends and family was never more apparent.

Afternoon teas are very popular and in high demand. Why not make it special and serve your afternoon tea arrangement on beautiful vintage china and that’s where we come in.

What better way of spending time and making special memories with loved ones, family and friends than sipping tea from dainty teacups from the past.

What’s been your favourite event that Little Vintage Teacup has provided vintage china hire to?

I love all the events I have catered for, no two events are the same but the one that I often think about was for a corporate charity fundraiser event last year which was for over 200 guests on 21 tables.  This was our largest ever booking and I am incredibly proud that we were chosen to provide our service.  It was a lot of hard work and involved an immense amount of preparation but it was worth it and it was a great success.

What do you think having vintage china brings to an event, over just ‘normal’ tableware?

Vintage always looks amazing and you will have a unique event.  Gracing your table with our beautiful china will add a touch of vintage charm and elegance to your special occasion and make it one to remember.

What are the best & worst things about running your own business?

The best thing for me about running my own business is being independent and managing my own time.

The downside is doing everything myself.
